The first ever Swabi Electronic Media Association (SEMA) has been established on Friday by local TV journalists and the foundering members vowed to uphold the ethics and principles of journalism in all circumstances. The participants said they badly felt the need of the union to work with complete concentration and determination and making the people approach to them quite easy while covering the upcoming general election.
They said the print media, very old union, would be kept intact but there was need of separate body of the electronic media to make coordinated efforts for bridging the gap between government and people. Senior journalist, Muhammad Farooq has been nominated as first president and Azmat Khan as general secretary. The other office-bearers are: Muhammad Adil, senior vice-president, Mustafa Kamal, vice-president, Rukhsar Ali joint secretary, Muhammad Riaz, finance sectary and Amjid Ali officer secretary.
