Lahore College for Women University (LCWU) Lahore, celebrated the birth anniversary of Hazrat Fatima-tuz-Zahra and Syyida-tun -Nisa-ul-Alamin (Leader of the Women of the world) The date of her Birth was 20th Jamad-ul-Sani. In this regard a two-day seminar was organized. Host of the conference and chairperson of Persian Department Dr Faleeha Kazmi said that this year birth day of Hazrat Fatima-tuz-Zahra has reached as the world is observing international women day. We, therefore, have jointly organized both events. She briefed that on the first day of the seminar, a famous Islamic scholar former Justice Nazir Ahmad Ghazi was the chief guest and on second day Dr Samia Raheel Qazi President Jamaat-e-Islami Women Wing, Dr Asma Mumdot MNA, Sheher Bano Wala Jahi Commissioner Income Tax, Islamabad chaired the session. Vice chancellor Dr Uzma Qureshi, Registrar Uzma Batool, Dean of Languages and Culture, Fariha Basit, Principal Mahrukh Bukhari, HODs and faculty members of various departments graced the function.
A large number of students also attended the seminar. While addressing the audience guests as well as speakers, Ms Fariha Basit, Ms Mubina Ali HOD Political Science Department, Dr Qamar Sultana from Political Science Department threw light on the life and characteristics of Syeda-tun-Nisa and declared her as an ideal personality and role model for the young girls. Dr Uzma Quraishi in her vote of thanks showed gratitude to the honorable guests and expressed that she has been deeply touched by the thoughts and views shared by the speakers. She also expressed hope that new generation will enlighten their minds and lives by the traits of Sayeda-tun-Nisa and this will lead to their success in this life and the life hereafter. A "Mime" performance was also presented by the Performing Arts and Cultural Society regarding women day in the seminar.
