South Korea's largest feedmaker Nonghyup Feed Inc. (NOFI) purchased around 202,000 tonnes of corn to be sourced from optional origins in an international tender which closed on Wednesday, European traders said. The corn was bought in three consignments. The first consignment of 65,000 tonnes for arrival around June 10 was bought at $220.20 a tonne c&f plus an extra $0.75 a tonne surcharge for additional port unloading. The seller was trading group Marubeni/Columbia Grain, they said.
The consignment was for shipment between April 28 and May 27 if sourced from the US Pacific northwest coast, for April 8 to May 7 if from the US Gulf/east Europe, and for April 3 to May 2 if from South America. The second consignment of about 68,000 tonnes for arrival around June 25 was bought at $218.87 a tonne c&f plus an extra $1.25 a tonne surcharge for additional port unloading. The seller was trading house Glencore.
The second consignment was for shipment between May 13 and June 11 if from the US Pacific northwest coast, for April 23 to May 22 from the US Gulf/east Europe or for April 18 to May 17 from South America. The third consignment of about 69,000 tonnes for arrival around July 5 was bought at $218.50 a tonne c&f plus an extra $1.25 a tonne surcharge for additional port unloading. The seller was trading house Avere.
NOFI on Wednesday also bought 60,000 tonnes of soyameal from South America in a separate tender. NOFI also tendered on Wednesday for 12,000 tonnes of rapeseed meal from India, 24,000 tonnes of palm kernel expeller meal from Asia and 8,000 tonnes of corn gluten feed from China.
