Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Dr Qayoom Soomro has claimed that the party enjoys support of 57 senators to its nominee for Chairman Senate. PPP co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari has reportedly invited independent senators from Balochistan over a tea party in their honour on Saturday. They will finalise their planning for the election of chairman and deputy chairman Senate in that meeting. Later, Zardari will also meet senators from Fata o discuss same agenda.
Amidst political manoeuvring for the coveted positions in the Upper House, Balochistan House Islamabad has become a haunting ground for political bigwigs as PPP contemplates nominating Sadiq Sanjrani and Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar from Balochistan. Balochistan Chief Minister Abdul Quddus Bizenjo met Asif Zardari and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister, separately. He has already announced that on his behalf Zardari had discretionary powers, in this regard.
KP Chief Minister Parvez Khattak assured his counterpart Bizenjo of PTI's support for bringing Chairman Senate from Balochistan on the directives of the PTI chairman Imran Khan.
