Over 12 cases of various kinds of thefts, dacoities and snatching at gunpoint, seven cases of motor vehicle thefts and one case of murder were reported to various police stations of the city during the last week. According to data gathered by Business Recorder through registered first information reports (FIRs) here on Saturday, most 'favorite' areas for criminal gangs were within the limits of Khanna, Ramna, industrial area and Golra police stations during the last week.
Ramna police station registered two cases of auto thefts/ snatching. One Mohammad Arif filed a complaint with Ramna police station that Zahid Imran, to whom he had given a pick-up van, has made it disappeared. In another case, one Mohammad Suleman filed an FIR against unknown robbers have stolen his Cultus car bearing registration number GT-136.
One Akhlaq Ahmad filed a complaint with Industrial Area police station that unknown robbers have stolen his motorbike. In another incident, one Mohammad Khursheed filed an FIR with Industrial Area police station that some unidentified robbers have stolen his Toyota Corolla (AA-246) from Sunday Bazaar. In another incident, one Mohammad Ashraf filed a complaint with Tarnol police station that some robbers have stolen his Toyota Corolla bearing registration number STT-925. In another incident, one Mohammad Naveed filed a complaint with Khanna police station that some robbers have stolen his car (SGD-3). One Umer Farooq filed an FIR with Sabzi Mandi police station that one Owais Mustafa has allegedly killed his brother. Meanwhile, local police along with Rangers conducted search operations in various areas of Sihala police station and arrested nine suspects during the week past.
