Punjab University Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Muhammad Zakria Zakar has said that sports are essential for life as such activities encourage culture of discipline and tolerance in society. He was addressing the closing ceremony of three-day sports gala organized by PU College of Earth and Environmental Sciences.
Chairman Overseas Pakistan Commission Khalid Shaheen Butt, Principal CEES Professor Dr Sajid Rasheed, faculty members and a large number students were present. In his address, Dr Zakar, congratulating the organizers on holding successful event, said that PU students were very talented, who are competing in every field of life.
Khalid Shaheen Butt said that women's participation in co-curricular activities in Punjab University was a proof that society's development was impossible without their involvement. He said that games were very important for mental and physical fitness.
