Deposed Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said on Friday that Supreme Court's judgment in the Elections Act, 2017 case is tantamount to pre-poll rigging. Talking to reporters after appearing before the Accountability Court hearing corruption references against him and his family members, Sharif said: "They (Supreme Court judges) first removed me from premiership and now another decision will come that will deprive me from contesting election." He said he does not think these decisions will be written in "golden words".
Sharif said the supplementary references filed against him and his family members have nothing new and are likely to be dismissed soon. The former prime minister said that the UK-based prosecution witness Robert W Radley, Principal Radley Forensic Document Laboratory and a forensic handwriting and document examination expert, said on Thursday last that the Calibri font was only available to IT experts, however on Friday he changed his statement and said although he was not an IT expert, he had been using the same font.
"You must have a fair idea whether our stance or viewpoint of the Joint Investigation Team has been strengthened," Sharif said while responding to a question.
