Customs to launch e-payment module by next week
Pakistan customs is going to launch its e-payment module by next week.
The issue was initially taken up by All Pakistan Customs Agents Association (APCAA). Wajid Ali Director, Directorate General Reforms and Automation during meeting of FPCCI Standing Committee on Customs, held in December last year announced launching of e-payment module for collecting duty and taxes online in 2018 and now the customs department is all set to commence the same for business community by next week, said Arshad Jamal Chairman Supreme Council APCAA.
He also extended his gratitude to Pakistan customs and Directorate General Reforms and Automation in this regard. Meanwhile, Karachi Customs Agents Association (KCAA) stated that Pakistan Customs has successfully achieved the target for e-payment of customs duties and taxes.
In this regard, the User Acceptance Test (UAT) of e-payments was conducted at Custom House, Karachi where first Good Declarations (GD) was processed live successfully. The duty and taxes were paid through e-payment module. The KCAA said that this e-module would be operational for trade by next week. The association also congratulated the entire customs machinery on this landmark achievement, which will provide facilitation to the trade at maximum.
