Wahab Riaz says Pakistan will be ready for India in World Cup 2019

Pakistan fast bowler Wahab Riaz is optimistic that his side will be ready to take down Virat Kohli-led Indian cricket team in the upcoming World Cup 2019.

"Pakistan will have a plan against Virat for sure, but if they play against India in the World Cup then they would not only plan against Virat but they will have to think about the whole team. It's not just about Kohli in the Indian team," said Riaz, quoted India Today.

Just like every other tournament, India versus Pakistan remains the crown jewel, and similar is the case for the upcoming encounter that is scheduled to take place on June 16 I England.

Riaz, who was part of Pakistan’s 2015 World Cup side, and is fondly remembered for his epic encounter with Australia’s Shane Watson, said that he is confident that Pakistan can replicate their 2017 Champions Trophy-winning performance in cricket’s biggest event next year.

"We can definitely repeat the 2017 Champions Trophy winning-performance in the World Cup next year. For that we have to put in a lot of hard work. We have to play our best game. ODI cricket is more of a momentum game. We have a good side and we can do really good in England," Riaz added.

Riaz, pick for the favourite batsman in world cricket at the moment, also didn’t came as a surprise as he picked Virat Kohli. "The Indian team has very good batsmen and Virat Kohli is no doubt one of the best going around right now. Steve Smith is also another very good batsman,” Riaz said.
