New Zealand’s McCullum not dead, says 'alive and kicking'

Former New Zealand all rounder, Nathan McCullum has dismissed his death rumors that surfaced on social media on Saturday.

“I am alive and kicking more than ever before. Not sure where this news has come from but this is fake. Love you all,” said Nathan McCullum, on social media.

Heath Mills, chief executive of New Zealand Players Association said he had been contacted from cricketers in India who had heard the false reports, reported nzherald.co.nz.

"I have to say, my heart was racing before he picked up," Mills said. The chief exective added that McCullum was "very much alive" and had spent the day at a bowls event in Auckland.

The rumor obviously didn’t sit well with younger brother and New Zealand former captain Brendon McCullum, and said that he will find the person involved in this activity.

“Tonight someone decided, via social media to release that my brother passed away! Im on a flight back to NZ and my heart broke! None of it is true! Whoever put this out there, I’ll find you! Somewhere, somehow,” responded Brendon McCullum.

McCullum, retired from international cricket back in 2016.
