The provincial government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Friday honoured National U-10 Tennis Champion Hamza Roman with cash incentives of Rs 50000/- for winning almost all national ranking event this year. A star in making Hamza Roman, wants to become Roger Federer. Hamza secured winner trophy of the National McDonalds Junior Tennis Championship Under-10 category and become runners-up in Under-12 category, won the National Ranking Federal Cup Tennis Championship held in Islamabad, winning Nayaz Pakistan Open Tennis Championship, winner of 2nd Chairman POA Wah Natioal Ranking Tennis Championship and Runners-up of Under-14 single category.
This was Hamza's fifth consecutive victory at national level besides winning overall eight different tournaments this year. In 2016 Hamza also won 8 tournaments and in 2015 he had seven different titles in the age of 7.
He has also got the honor of becoming the youngest ever Champion in the age of 7 and 8 and now holding the stilling No. 1 ranking in the age of 9. Talking to media after winning the National Ranking Tournament in Lahore, Hamza thanked DG Sports KP Junaid Khan for extending financial and moral support. Hamza wants to continue his winning spree in Under-12 and Under-14 categories as well.
Celebrated his 9th birthday on November 17, last, Hamza Roman has made many supervises among one of becoming the National Under-10 Champion in no time by winning almost all tournament held under the aegis of Pakistan Tennis Federation at national level. Hamza has selected his first toy a tennis racket when he started scrolling, his father, himself a tennis coach Roman Gul while recalling old-day memories, informed this agency, after receiving the cheque of Rs 50,000 from DG Sports KP Junaid Khan.
Inspired from Roger Federer and Pakistan's most Davis Cupper Hamid-ul-Haq, currently Pakistan No. 1 in Under-10 age group, Hamza has many dreams in his small but shining eyes. The upcoming young-gun, who really played like his ideal star Roger Federer, Hamza, in a short span of time won almost all national ranking event and despite holding the currently National No 1 ranking as Under-10 player, he got distinction of holding rank 3th in Under-12 age group and Pakistan No. 4 in Under-14 category with sheer efforts, commitment and love with game. "I'm improving with every day passing and certainly the day is not so far reaching to that height currently Roger Federer is playing," Hamza added with a fabulous confidence. "My performance was much better from that was in 2016 and hopefully it would be better more in 2018 as well," Hamza added. So far I played eight tournaments this year and secured No. 1 position in all," he said, giving an innocent smile but with a superb confidence which clearly indicated his passion toward Tennis.
Hamza played eight tournaments including First Sonex Cookware National Junior Championship in Bagah Jinnah, Lahore, Kalsoom Saif Ullah Khan Memorial National Ranking Tournament, Chief of the Air Staff Khyber Cup Open Tennis Tournament, Super-9 National Ranking Tennis Championship and First Bascule National Ranking Tennis Tournament, 25th Chenab Club All-Pakistan Tennis Tournament, First ZTBL Junior National Tennis Tournament, First Chairman POF Wah Board National Ranking Tournament and with grace of Almighty Allah and prayers of my mother, efforts of my father, I secured top position in all.
