The Karachi Port handled 109,958 tonnes of cargo comprising 101,135 tonnes of import cargo and 8,823 tonnes of export cargo including NA loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Tuesday. The total import cargo of 101,135 tonnes comprised of 45,070 tonnes of containerised cargo; 3,718 tonnes of general cargo; 46,509 tonnes of bulk cargo: 33,000 tonnes of coal; 3,250 tonnes of clinkers; 4,386 tonnes of soyabean seeds; 5,873 tonnes of fertilizer and 5,838 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 8,823 tonnes comprised of 8,223 tonnes of containerised cargo and 600 tonnes of general cargo. There were four ships namely Los Angeles Trader, Newark, Al Hawaii and Navios Vector carrying containers and DAP respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
There were eight vessels viz. Athens Bridge, APL Hawaii, Sima Genesis, MT Shalamar, BW Helium, Baltic Cove, Yasa Ilhan and Dato Lucky carrying containers, oil tankers, fertilizer, coal and general cargo respectively currently at the berths. There were two ships namely Hong Master and Maritime Longevity carrying clinker and coal respectively sailed out to sea on Tuesday, while two ships namely Athens Bridge and Sima Genesis carrying containers are expected to sail on Wednesday.
There were four vessels A YM Cypress, Hyundai Faith and King Douglas carrying containers and mogas respectively due to arrive on Tuesday, while four vessels viz. Tolten, Pacific Voyager, Uacc Ibn Al Haitham and Industrial Eagle carrying containers, soyabean meal, mogas and general cargo respectively are due to arrive on Wednesday.

PORT QASIM

A cargo volume of 178,820 tonnes comprising 142,233 tonnes of import cargo and 36,587 tonnes of export cargo including 3,383 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Tuesday. The total import cargo of 142,233 tonnes includes 19,581 tonnes of diesel oil; 6,700 tonnes of palm oil; 50,000 tonnes of LNG; 4,421 tonnes of LPG; 3,660 tonnes of sunflower seeds; 10,500 tonnes of soyabean seeds; 11,100 tonnes of coal and 36,271 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo of 36,587 tonnes includes 8,581 tonnes of rice and 28,006 tonnes of containerised cargo. As many as 3,383 containers comprising of 1,909 containers import and 1,474 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Tuesday.
There were two ships namely CV MSC Albany and MV Marvel carrying containers and rice respectively sailed out to sea on Tuesday morning, while three ships namely CV MSC Rachale, CV Newark and MT Straum carrying containers and palm oil respectively are expected to sail on the same day afternoon. A total number of twelve vessels viz. CV MSC Albany, CV MSC Rachale, CV Newark, MV Marvel, MV Trade Will, MV Medi Chiba, MV Kasman, MT Ever Rich-6, MT White Purl, MT Al Jassasiya, MT Glorious and MT Straum currently occupied berths to load/offload containers, rice, coal, sunflower seeds, soyabean seeds, LPG, LNG, diesel oil and palm oil respectively during the last 24 hours.
As many as thirteen ships namely CV APL Hawaii, MV Daje, MV Sakzaya Miracle, MV Diyaa-B, MV African Arrow, MV YM Miranda, MT Maria-III, MT Quetta, MT United Banner, MT Al-Salam-II, MT Alpine Penelope, MT Bahra and MT Fortune Era carrying containers, project cargo, canola seeds, clinker, steel coil, chemical, LPG, furnace oil, diesel oil and palm oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours. There were five vessels viz. CV MSC Al-Geciras, MV APL Hawaii, CV Northern Megnum, MV African Arrow and MT Horizon carrying containers, steel coil and palm oil respectively expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal and Liquid Oil Terminal respectively on Tuesday.
There were seven ships namely Prosper, CV MSC Al-Geciras, MV APL Miami, CV MSC Joanna, CV Northern Megnum, MT Bahra and MT Horizon carrying containers, diesel oil and palm oil respectively due to arrive on Tuesday.
