Electoral Reform Act 2017: LHC seeks reply from government

The Lahore High Court on Monday gave another chance to the federal government to submit its reply till December 12 in petitions challenging "Electoral Reform Act 2017" which paved way for Nawaz Sharif to head his party. Earlier, a law officer sought time to submit reply and the court allowed the time accordingly.
The petitioners Azhar Saddique and others said that the SC had disqualified Nawaz Sharif as Prime Minister but now he had made head of PML-N. They said that disqualified person cannot lead a political party but through new law Nawaz Sharif has been made head of the party which is against the spirit of the Constitution. They prayed the court to bar Nawaz Sharif from holding office of president of PML-N.
