Khyber Medical University (KMU), Peshawar and International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), Pakistan has signed a Memorandum Of Understanding (MOU) for mutual cooperation to strengthen the health care system of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and FATA. The framework agreement was signed by Professor Dr Arshad Javaid Vice Chancellor, KMU and Patrick Somxaysana Vilayleck Head of ICRC Sub delegation in Peshawar, according to statement issued by the university here on Thursday.
According to details the framework agreement is basically an umbrella which will set opportunities for the future collaboration between KMU and ICRC in order to improve the quality health care services for the wounded and sick patients from KP and FATA. The main objective of the MOU is to collaborate on the capacity building of doctors, nurses and paramedics on emergency health services, as improving the clinical knowledge of the health care providers, operational research and academic support in physical rehabilitation by 2022.
This framework agreement is foreseen to commence for five years and will remain valid unless one or other party decides to terminate their responsibilities in the event of an irresolvable dispute, or one or other party does not fulfill partially or completely their obligations as defined in the agreement.
