At least three people were killed and eight others injured in firing on rally here on Thursday. Police said that a religious organization Tehreek Labbaik Ya Rasool Allah (TLYRA) on the occasion of Eid Milad-un-Nabi held a rally in Khairpur. As the rally reached Ammer Shah Chowk, Kot Diji in Khairpur, unidentified armed men opened indiscriminate fire at the participants.
As a result of firing, three people identified as Zulfiqar Buriro, Latif Dina and Mushtaq Buriro were killed on the spot while eight others including Qurban Ali, Imtiaz Kothar, Kashmir Buriro, Dodo Khan Buriro, Shaubuddin, Ghulam Shabbir Dharejo and two others sustained bullet wounds. The attackers fled the scene after committing triple murder, leaving eight others injured. Heavy contingent of police and Rangers reached the scene and shifted the bodies and injured to nearby hospital for medico-legal formalities.
