LONDON: European stocks steadied at the start of trading on Friday following another volatile week for markets.
London's benchmark FTSE 100 index dipped fractionally to 6,958.44 points compared with the close on Thursday.
In the eurozone, Frankfurt's DAX 30 index gained 0.1 percent to 11,146.55 points and the Paris CAC 40 was flat at 4,939.79.
