Pakistan Muslim League - Q is observing death anniversary of Chaudhry Zahoor Elahi; father of former prime minister Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and uncle of former chief minister Punjab Chaudhry Pervez Elahi, today who was assassinated on 25th September 1981 in Lahore by a terrorist group allegedly having links to the Pakistan Peoples Party.
Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and Chaudhry Pervez Elahi and family members are holding a big meeting of party leaders and workers at Gujrat to pay homage to Chaudhry Zahoor Elahi. They said Chaudhry Zahoor Elahi Shaheed is still alive in the hearts of the people because of his great political, social and welfare services. Shaheed leader had started his political career during Pakistan Movement under the leadership of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. After creation of Pakistan he played an important role in getting released besieged and abducted Muslim women from shackles of Hindus and Sikhs in East Punjab and bringing them to Pakistan.
