Three more matches decided in the ongoing Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Regional Inter-Club Hockey Championship being played here at Lala Ayub Hockey Stadium on Saturday. In the first match both Prince Civil Quarters Peshawar and Al-Badar Club Timargara, Dir Lower played a 5-5 goal draw. There were some beautiful moves that were witnessed by large number of spectators enjoyed the thrilling matches.
Peshawar opened the account through right winger Ismail on the field attempt in the very 2nd minute and Zarin doubled the lead five minute later with similar fashion. On the other hands, Al-Badar Club Timargara Dir Lower tied the tally very quickly in the 9th and 14th minute through Khalil Jan and Qasim Habeeb to make the tally 2-2.
In the 17th minute Wahab slammed in a goal on the penalty corner rebound and this time again Al-Badar tied the tally through Adnan Ullah on the field attempt. Both the teams were tied 3-3 at the end of the first two quarters. It was the third quarters when Prince Civil Quarters took the lead through left winger Taimur while Zarin Khan made it 5-3 by sounding the board with his forceful penalty corner.
In the second match Civil Quarters Peshawar defeated Dera Red of Dera Ismail Khan by 6-1. In the third match Khadim Club Bannu beat Ayub Club Kohat on a tennis goal match 6-0. Zahid Malik and Munib Jan scored two goals each while Akhtar Ali, Gulzar Khan scored one goal each. The matches were supervised by Haroon Khan (PAF), Amir Hamza (PAF) and Afsar Ali (Wapda) while Master Khan (Wapda) acted as field judge.
Earlier, President KP Hockey Association and Additional Secretary SAFRON Captain (Retd) Tariq Hayat was the chief guest on this occasion and before the start of the matches the players were introduced to him. Vice President PHF and Ex-IGP Muhammad Saeed Khan, Additional Commissioner Afghan Refugees Waqar Maroof. Secretary Syed Zahir and large number of spectators were also present.
