Activity at Karachi & Qasim ports

The Karachi Port handled 383,298 tonnes of cargo comprising 340,388 tonnes of import cargo and 42,910 tonnes of export cargo including 3,650 loaded and empty containers during the last 48 hours ending at 0700 hours on Monday. The total import cargo of 340,388 tonnes comprised of 68,459 tonnes of containerised cargo; 8,157 tonnes of general cargo; 114,333 tonnes of total bulk cargo: 4,171 tonnes of lube base oil; 83,899 tonnes of coal; 7,063 tonnes of DAP; 700 tonnes of soyabean meal; 18,500 tonnes of rock phosphate and 149,439 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 42,910 tonnes comprised of 33,834 tonnes of containerised cargo; 3,726 tonnes of bulk cargo: 1,856 tonnes of rice; 1,870 tonnes of general cargo and 5,350 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. As many as 3,650 containers comprising of 1,922 containers import and 1,728 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Monday.
The break-up of imported containers shows 703 of 20's and 542 of 40's loaded while 05 of 20's and 65 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 192 of 20's and 113 of 40's loaded containers while 460 of 20's and 425 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There were thirteen ships namely MOL Experience, SC Tianjin, Sabya, MSC Positano, Wan Hai-511, OOCL Italy, MT Lahore, Elka Delphi, Orient Phoenix, Malhari, AP Sveti Vlaho, Equinox Glory and Positive Star carrying containers, oil tankers, meal, chemical, DAP and vehicle respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period. There were twelve vessels viz. MSC Positano, Cosco Wellington, Cosco Hafia, Morning Glory, Al-Soor-II, Malhari, Darleakay, Glovis Melody, Positive Star, Ping An Song, Jia Mao Shan and Orchid Island carrying containers, oil tankers, rice, chemical, coal, vehicle and general cargo respectively currently at the berths.
There were two ships namely Morning Glory and Asia Zircon-II carrying oil tanker and rock phosphate respectively sailed out to sea on Monday while two ships namely X-Press Kailash and Amis Wisdom-I carrying containers and coal respectively are expected to sail on Tuesday.
There were four vessels viz. KMTC Mumbai, Cape Marin, FPMC-17 and Hermione carrying containers and mogas respectively due to arrive on Monday while five vessels viz. Maersk Kaya, YM Excellance, Euro Strength, Glovis Captain and KSL Fuyang carrying containers, oil tanker, vehicle and general cargo respectively are due to arrive on Tuesday.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 78,957 tonnes comprising 76,183 tonnes of import cargo and 2,774 tonnes of export cargo inclusive 290 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Monday.
The total import cargo of 76,183 tonnes includes 42,975 tonnes of furnace oil; 24,000 tonnes of LNG; 646 tonnes of fertiliser; 5,826 tonnes of chemical and 2,736 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo of 2,774 tonnes includes 2,774 tonnes of containerised cargo.
As many as 290 containers comprising of 144 containers import and 146 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Monday. There were two ships namely CV X-Press Kailash and MV Octaden carrying containers and chemical respectively sailed out to sea on Monday morning, while another ship namely MT Al-Kharsaah carrying LNG is expected to sail on the same day afternoon.
A total number of seven vessels viz. CV X-Press Kailash, MV Diyaa B, MV Unico Sienna, MV Octaden, MT Al-Kharsaah, MT Lion-M and MT Shalamar currently occupied berths to load/offload containers, cement, furtilizer, chemical, LNG and furnace oil respectively during the last 24 hours.
As many as twelve ships namely CV Al-Kharj, CV MSC Valencia, CV MSC Pamela, MV Kavo Platanos, MV Black Marlin, MV Sea Delta, MV Talla, MT Globe Tanya, MT Wall Eye, MT Rise Fortune, MT Lion-M and MT Harmony carrying containers, sunflower seeds, canola seeds, project cargo, LPG, diesel oil and furnace oil were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim on Monday.
There were four vessels viz. CV Al-Kharj, CV MSC Valencia, CV MSC Pamela and MT Globe Tanya carrying containers and LPG expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal and SSGC LPG Terminal respectively on Monday. There is one ship namely CV MSC Al-Ghero carrying containers due to arrive on Tuesday.
