ISLAMABAD: National Highway Authority (NHA) has planned to improve two incomplete portions of 42 km Taxila-Haripur Highway (N-125) in near future.
Procurement process for the remaining 12.5 km road portion (N-125 from Taxila to Haripur via Khanpur) was under way, an official of NHA told APP here Thursday.
The official said about 30 km of the highway has already been improved and the remaining portion contract was awarded for construction as per NHA standards of the contract period, but the contractor was unable to start the work.
The contract was accordingly terminated and the contractor would be black listed, in due course.
In addition to the pavement, construction of three bridges on the causeways between Khanpur-Haripur has been awarded and the soil investigation of the same is under process.
