Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah Khan has said the Punjab government would eliminate "Thana culture" before the end of current financial year as Patwar culture has been eradicated by computerisation of land record in the Punjab. He was addressing the inaugural ceremony of newly constructed building of Police Station Samnabad which has been completed at a cost of Rs 40 million.
The law minister said that a strategy was on the anvil to introduce the methodology for getting rid of Thana culture under which entire system of police station affairs would be computerised and the complaints of the citizens would be available with the higher police authorities under a track number and these complaints would not be remained unattended at all.
He informed that Asia's biggest forensic laboratory had been established by the Punjab govt at a cost of Rs 8 billion and 13 different evidences could be collected through this technology from the crime scene for the accurate and prompt investigations and tracing the crimes. He said that funds of billions rupees would be allocated for the operation this system. Rana Sanaullah Khan said the safe city project had also been launched and the project had been completed to safe the Lahore and entire city would open before the eyes of camera and no criminal could have managed to escape. He maintained that the project would also be started to make the Faisalabad as safe city and CM Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif had given the approval for this project and survey was conducting for this project. He said that no nation and society could get the development and progress without maintaining the law and order situation and the Punjab govt. had focused its special attention on the protection of people's lives, property and honour. He advised the district police authorities to make the police station Samnabad as a model police station and Citizens Police Liaison Committee be activated to promote the peace and justice.
CPO Afzal Kausar thanked the Law Minister for extending cooperation for the construction of new building of Police Station Samnabad and said that the police could perform better by the development of infrastructure in this sector. He expressed his determination against the crimes and said that they would try to come up the expectations of the peoples. Later, Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah Khan participated in the 36th Annual Sports Festival of Government Postgraduate College of Science Samnabad. Director Colleges Rana Munawar Khan and Principal Nazar Latif were also present on the occasion.
