Pakistan Judo Team Friday returned from India after winning altogether a dozen of medals in the 12th South Asian Games. The team comprising six male and similar number of female judokas won 2 gold, 2 silver and as many as 8 bronze medals and put up good show in the Games, said a spokesman of Pakistan Judo Federation here.
The medals winners are, Fouzia Yasir, in -78Kg weight category (gold), Shah Hussain Shah,-100Kg (gold), Humaira Ashiq (silver) and Beenish Khan (silver). Iran Shehzadi (bronze), Shumaila Gull (bronze), Ambreen Masih (bronze) Mudassir Ali (bronze), Babar Hussain (bronze), Imtiaz Hussain (bronze), Qaisar Khan(bronze) and Afzal Bashir (bronze) bronze.
Officials of PJF along with officials of Islamabad Judo Association received the team at Islamabad airport.
"Judo was last event of the 12th SAG, the competition of Judo in -100Kg weight category held at last in which our Judoka Shah Hussain Shah got Gold Medal, resultantly the last Gold Medal of the Games was awarded to Hussain and the Games were concluded by playing the national anthem of Pakistan at the medal awarding ceremony", he asserted.
