Pakistan army on Friday has appointed a new chief of general staff (CGS) along with a reshuffle in the military's ranks, informed the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

According to ISPR, Lieutenant General Nadeem Raza has been appointed as the new CGS. Meanwhile, General Raza has replaced Lieutenant General Bilal Akbar who has now been appointed as commander of Rawalpindi Corps.

Lieutenant General Shahid Baig Mirza has been appointed as the Inspector General (IG) Communications and Information Technology (C&IT). He previously served as Corps Commander of Karachi, local media reported.

Furthermore, Lieutenant General Abdullah Dogar has been appointed as the chairman of the Heavy Industries Taxila. General Dogar was Corps Commander of Multan before the new appointment.

Lieutenant General Muhammad Naeem Ashraf and Lieutenant General Humayun Aziz have been appointed as commanders of Multan Corps and Karachi Corps respectively. Before,  General Aziz served as inspector general of communications and information technology.
