Pakistan Muslim League-Q (PML) senior central leader and former Deputy Prime Minister Chaudhry Parvez Elahi has claimed majority in tehsil Gujrat, Kunjah and Talagang in LG polls. On behalf of the PML-Q leadership he thanked the party supporters who as he said "foiled the government's all tactics and elected PML-Q candidates in these Tehsils".
Talking to media at his residence in Gujrat, Elahi alleged that the PML-N government had given targets to the DCOs and DPOs to ensure win of its candidates in the Local Bodies polls otherwise they would be posted out of Punjab. "All DCOs and DPOs of the 12 districts have achieved there targets and escaped from being exiled from Punjab . All had witnessed that not only children cast votes but also the dead ones.
He said PML-Q had informed the Election Commission about all tactics of rigging of the rulers ahead of the election. On the polling day inside the polling stations polling staff kept putting stamps and outside police was giving cover to those committing rigging. The treatment meted out by the police in Gujrat to a candidate and his family who protested against this open rigging by the polling staff was seen by all on television screens Elahi added.
He alleged that Shahbaz Sharif and Nawaz Sharif had broken their own records of pre-poll and polling rigging whereas they had already sabotaged the entire system of devolution of powers and distribution of funds at lower level through their own new Local Government Act. He said we had allowed our candidates to contest the election to expose the real faces of the rulers who keep clamoring about democracy and transparency.
He said none else except N-League is satisfied about the election results. "We had repeatedly said that DCOs as ROs are active everywhere in pre-poll rigging of N-League and if this was not rectified then the people will forget 2013 and 1977 riggings" He said all had seen that administration fully demonstrated partiality, even lists of voters for polling stations were tempered in favour of N-League. There was difference in the lists given to the polling staff and non-official candidates and opposition parties people kept looking for votes.
