KP, FATA and the adjoining areas of Afghanistan have been source of conflicts. In spite of having rich natural resources, including livestock, the people are facing extreme poverty. Dairy Science Park has emerged as a Society at the University of Agriculture, Peshawar as an engine to mobilise the resources and network the stakeholders for achieving the two sustainable goals of: i) self-employment of youth and: ii) hygienic food production for local consumption and export, in partnership with the United Nations.
An Advisory Panel of 10-member has been constituted for getting policy directions for the Park. A 21-member Panel of Experts has been notified for getting technical inputs for operation of various programs.
A panel of Focal Points (9) has been appointed for establishing scientific, business, and economic collaboration with Australia, China, India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Turkey, the Netherlands, USA, and Canada. Dairy Science Park Veterinary Clinic and Marketing Centre (DSP-VCMC) has been established at Chamkani, GT Road, Peshawar, 20-km from the head office, which is surrounded by a good number of peri-urban dairy farms, calf fattening farms, sheep and goats herds, and poultry farms.
