PA to elect speaker, deputy speaker on Aug 16

LAHORE: The speaker and deputy speaker of the Punjab Assembly will be elected on Thursday (August 16) through secret balloting.

The nomination papers for the slots have been submitted to the Punjab Assembly secretary.

The PTI had nominated Chaudhry Pervez Elahi as speaker and Dost Muhammad Mazari as deputy speaker, while PML-N had nominated Chaudhry Iqbal Gujar and Rana Ayyaz as speaker and deputy speaker, respectively.
