The Met Office on Thursday forecast widespread rain-thundershower for most parts of the upcountry in the next 24 hours. It said that rain-thundershower is likely in Kashmir, Hazara, Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Gujranwala, and divisions and at scattered places in Malakand, Peshawar, Kohat, Mardan, Faisalabad and Sarghodha divisions, besides Fata.
It said that partly cloudy to complete cloudy weather with chances of light rain/drizzle was expected in Karachi during the next 24 hours. Temperature is expected between 33 degrees Celsius and 35 degrees Celsius with maximum 75 percent humidity. It also forecast a partly cloudy to complete cloudy and windy weather for Eid-al-Fitr's first day in the metropolis with chances of light rain/drizzle. Temperature on the religious festival day is expected to remain maximum 35 degrees and humidity 75 percent.
The office also issued a flash flooding in the wake of widespread rains expected from Friday night to fall till Sunday night in Kashmir, Hazara, Rawalpindi, Islamabad and Gujranwala divisions. "Due to heavy falls flash flooding is expected in local Nullahs during the period," it said. The Office's weather report said that "a well mark seasonal low lies over north Balochistan and its adjoining areas with its trough extending south eastward. Moderate monsoon currents are penetrating into upper parts of the country and likely to strengthen from tomorrow and may persist in upper and central parts till Tuesday." Dalbandin was the hottest place in the country with 46 degree Celsius, Nokkundi and Sukkur 45 degrees each, Rohri, Shaheed Benazirabad, Larkana and Dadu 44 degrees each.
