Hundreds of the government employees on Wednesday staged protest in front of the main gate of Pak-Secretariat demanding 100 percent increase in salaries. The government employees working in Pak-Secretariat staged protest in front of the main gate of Pak Secretariat and also blocked other gates of the Secretariat. They chanted slogans for their pay increase and threatened that they would prolong their protest, if the government failed to fulfil their demands.
Heavy contingent of police was deployed on the occasion to avert any untoward incident. The protest was organised by All Pakistan Secretariat Employees Union. They demanded of the government to increase their pay like police, IB, FBR, the Supreme Court, National Assembly, Pakistan Institute of Medical Science (PIMS) and other government departments. Protesters also demanded to end discrimination among the salary packages of different cadres. They said the government employees would continue their protest till their demands are met.
