KARACHI: BRINDEX-30 closed on the upper side on Thursday at 22,829.10 points with a positive change of 489.95 and volume of 146,225,100 shares. High and Low were 22,872.24 and 22,339.15 respectively. Of 30 companies traded, 24 were up, 6 were down and 0 was unchanged.

Total volume traded in the market was 254,328,590 shares. Total companies traded were 348 of which 228 were positive, 99 were negative and 21 were unchanged.

Transport was the top traded sector with total traded volume of 42,799,900 shares. It was followed by Commercial Banks with a total traded volume of 38,469,200 shares.

The top three advancers were Philip Morris (Pakistan) Limited with a volume of 1,440 and price per share of 2,662.53 (126.78), Sapphire Textile Mills Limited with a volume of 60 and price per share of 1,113.98 (48.57), Wyeth Pakistan Limited with a volume of 340 and price per share of 1,486.50 (45.17).

The top three decliners were Colgate-Palmolive (Pakistan) Limited with a volume of 80 and price per share of 2,980 (-143.60), Pakistan Tobacco Company Limited with a volume of 100 and price per share of 2,150 (-50.00), Indus Dyeing & Manufacturing Co. Limited with a volume of 50 and price per share of 628.98 (-33.10).
