Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif during a meeting with Governor Rafique Rajwana discussed matters of mutual interest and development programmes. Shahbaz also congratulated two new provincial ministers Rana Sanaullah Khan and Doctor Ayesha Ghaus Pasha on assuming their new responsibilities. Shahbaz said that the provincial government is taking solid measures to raise the living standards and mega projects are being executed in the province for provision of basic amenities and relief to the citizens.
"Development schemes are being completed on priority basis in various districts of the South Punjab. Like previous years, more funds will be allocated than the ratio of population for the progress and development of south Punjab," he added. He further said, "Measures will be taken for the provision of relief to the masses. Work is being carried out speedily on projects worth billions of rupees for the uplift of rural and backward areas." He said that construction and rehabilitation work of all rural roads will be completed by 2018 under Khadim-e-Punjab Rural Roads Programme."
