Life support training is imperative for every individual to remain safe and help others in a situation of man-made and natural disaster for safety and recovery in cases of untoward incidents. This was stated by Disaster Risk Reduction Expert Akhtar Ahmad of Earthquake Reconstruction Rehabilitation Authority (ERRA) in a training session at the Learn-A-Licious day-care and kids Club Islamabad.
In the session the trainers demonstrated through pictures how to adopting precautionary steps to minimise disaster, fire and there negative impact. It is pertinent to note that ERRA has chalked out an active plan to sensitise school, colleges, day-care centers to minimise fatality. The key objective of the training at day-care center was to sensitise kids, students, teachers, instructors and other staff members about disaster.
During the training session ERRA expert said that first aid training to deal with any eventuality causing wounds, cuts, bruises and abrasions instantly create difficult situation of emergency which needed ample training by adopting curative steps to tackle the situation.
He said that in case of earthquake the precautionary steps are also important. He shared the steps in case of earthquake, fire and even the terrorists attack inside a building. He added that ERRA is the only post disaster management in Pakistan for the purpose.
He highlighted the need to promote awareness among the school staff including female employees to rapidly respond disaster and build up a culture of safety and resilience. He called upon the staff including male and female to acquired first aid training with kit and medicine, fire extinguishers etc. While highlighting training needs, he said that "to face natural calamities we needed, pre-disaster, during disaster and post disaster strategy to tackle the situation effectively".-PR
