LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leader Maryam Nawaz on Wednesday appeared before returning officer for scrutiny of her nomination papers for NA-127 and PP-173.

Returning Officer Asif Bashir asked Maryam how she would plan to resolve water crisis in Punjab, to which, she replied: "Dams will be built to overcome water crisis".

The returning officer also sought her opinion about Pakistan's foreign policy with India and Afghanistan. Later, talking to the media, Maryam Nawaz said, it was high time that vote should be respected, adding that she was out to get respected to the vote and the country. She said, script against her father Nawaz Sharif had fizzled out. She said, time had passed for those who conspired for delay in elections.

Regarding verdict about Sheikh Rashid Ahmed, Maryam said she didn't bother to hear the verdict of Awami Muslim League (AML) Chief Sheikh Rashid's disqualification petition. Responding to a question, she said, 126-day sit-in was staged to help former president Pervez Musharraf flee from country.

PML-N stalwart said, her party would form its governments in center and Punjab after general election 2018. She urged the masses to come out and vote to PML-N. Maryam confirmed that she would celebrate eid with Begum Kulsoom Nawaz in London. Earlier, Maryam Nawaz appeared before Returning Officer amid strict security arrangements.
