Body formed to probe into building collapse incident

In view of the unfortunate incident resulting in several casualties and injuries on Tuesday in Churi Market, Ilyasabad Colony near Memon Hospital, Tehsil City Hyderabad, Divisional Commissioner Hyderabad Division has constituted a five-member committee to probe the incident and conduct an inquiry on the guidelines laid down in the terms of references.
The committee will comprise Deputy Commissioner, Hyderabad as its Convenor; Director General, Hyderabad Development Authority; Regional Director, Sindh Building Control Authority; Administrator, Hyderabad Municipal Corporation and Superintending Engineer, Provincial Building Circle.
The committee shall be responsible for responding to the following Terms of References: to find the causes of collapse, to comment on whether or not the departments / agencies responsible to check the quality of construction, fulfilled their obligations / duties and to propose working plan, with responsibilities laid down, for effectively ensuring prevention of such incidents in future. The Committee shall, without fail, submit its report by 15th September, 2014. The Divisional Commissioner Hyderabad Division shall, in the meanwhile, supervise the progress of the committee regularly.
