At least one person was killed and five others injured in twin blasts at Khanpur of Manshera district here on Saturday. According to the police, first explosion apparently caused by Improvised Explosive Device (IED) occurred when a vehicle of security forces was passing through Khanpur area on Karakuram Highway. There were reports about two persons injured in the incident.
After about 45 minutes of the first explosion, another blast occurred in the same area when rescue and relief operation was underway. As a result of second explosion, a private vehicle came under attack, one person identified as Sarfraz of Batagram district was killed and three others injured. The injured were shifted to hospital. The security forces cordoned off the area after and launched investigations.
