The Pakistan People's Party (PPP) Senator and former interior minister Rehman Malik demanded further beefing up security arrangements at airports. Talking to media persons at Karachi airport on Saturday, Rehman Malik said such types of terrorist attacks are not good for Pakistan's reputation. He hoped that the government would learn from its mistakes and would not allow such incidents to happen again.
Answering a question, he said: "There should be a thorough investigation into the attack." Rehman Malik also raised question about Indian arms that are being used in Pakistan for terrorism Meanwhile, the PPP leader Nafisa Shah said the Federal Government must take responsibility of the airport attack. She said Karachi's future seemed like that of Waziristan, Quetta and Peshawar.
