Tahir-ul-Qadri says no one should expect fair elections from 'corrupt system'

Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) Chairman Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri has said that no one should expect fair elections, which will be held on July 25, from a 'corrupt system'.

The PAT leader took to Twitter and wrote, "As long as the system is corrupt no honest caretaker would be able make any change." He further wrote that the corrupt system has not delivered free and fair elections in the past and one should not expect the system to conduct and deliver fair  upcoming elections.

The general elections will be held on July 25, after President Mamnoon Hussain approved the date on the summary sent by the Election Commission of Pakistan. The ruling Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz’s tenure will expire in two days, after which former Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Nasir-ul-Mulk will assume the role of caretaker prime minister and oversee the general elections.
