SARGODHA: DCO Azmat Mehmood has directed sugar mills to ensure payment of outstanding dues to farmers before March 15.
Addressing a meeting at committee room on Saturday, attended by assistant commissioners of Sahiwal and Shahpur, sugar mills administration, leaders of Kisan Bachao Tehrik and sugar growers, the DCO directed the assistance commissioners to ensure 100 percent payment to sugarcane growers before March 15.
He directed that if the administration of Chistia sugar mills Farooqa and Abdullah sugar mills Shahpur failed to pay 100 percent dues before the deadline, cases should be registered against them.
Chistia sugar mills Farooqa and Abdullah sugar mills Shahpur have not paid Rs 70 million to growers since 2008-2011.
