Chief Justice of Sindh High Court (SHC) Justice Mushir Alam paid rich tributes to late Justice Amanullah Abbasi at a memorial reference held here. Speaking at a memorial reference organised by Sindh Madressatul Islam University (SMIU) in memory of late Justice Amanullah Abbasi, the chief justice said "I had learnt a lot from him while working with him in judiciary".
Paying tributes to him, he said "I consider him as one of my great teachers". He further said "I think a teacher never dies; instead, he lives in hearts and minds of his students. This is why, I feel that Justice Amanullah Abbasi is alive and lives in our hearts and minds". He said late Justice Abbasi was an honest and dedicated judge and he provided justice to people without any discrimination.
Justice Mushir Alam also appreciated Vice Chancellor of SMIU Dr Muhammad Ali Shaikh, for arranging the memorial reference. Former chief justice of Supreme Court of Pakistan and a member of the Selection Board of SMIU, former justice Rana Bhagwandas, in his speech said that Justice Amanullah Abbasi was firm and determined in his decisions. Besides, he was a civilised and honest person with high moral qualities.
SMIU Vice Chancellor, Dr Muhammad Ali Shaikh, in his welcome address said Justice Amanullah Abbasi remained close to Sindh Madressah in various capacities and proved helpful and supportive for that historic institution in his life. The memorial reference was attended among others by the retired judges and senior lawyers.
