MIRPUR: Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) President Sardar Masood Khan has felicitated Poonch Medical College (PMC) for being first in the Final Professional MBBS Examination (FPME) 2017 among all medical colleges associated with the University of Health Sciences, Lahore.
President Masood Khan, who is also chancellor of the public-sector universities in AJK, reiterated that the incumbent government prioritizes merit-based admissions and faculty recruitment in the state universities.
He termed it a landmark achievement and congratulated the PMC principal, staff, students and parents on the outstanding result. Masood said that despite limited resources, Poonch Medical College has made this achievement.
He hoped that in the coming years PMC would maintain these academic standards by continuing to impart quality medical education to the students of the country.
He further said that no political interference would be allowed to influence decision making in the state-run universities and other educational institutions in the state.
