The Legacy of Nation Building

We commenced our historic journey in October 1966, with the construction of the Karakoram Highway (KKH) – a 1300 kilometre engineering marvel connecting Pakistan and China, often hailed as the “Eighth Wonder of the World”.

Over the decades, FWO has evolved into one of Pakistan’s leading infrastructure development organization, contributing significantly to national development through iconic initiatives, including motorways & highways, bridges, tunnels and dams. Its unflinching resolve and innovative strategy has not only reshaped the country’s landscapes but also set sails for a brighter and prosperous Pakistan. Diversifying from traditional infrastructural ventures, today FWO has also established itself as a trusted name in the field of mining, oil infrastructure, IT based solutions and safe city initiatives.

Yadgar-e-Fatah – A Testament to Nation’s Resolve

Carved as a tribute to the nation that stood, Yadgar-e-Fatah commemorates the historic victory of Marqa-e-Haq. Symbolizing the iron will of the Nation; artistically crafted with inspiration from the architecture of Masjid-e-Nabwi, it transforms the legacy of Marqa-e-Haq into a vision of progress, prosperity and a promising future.

The Five Arches

The five pillars of Islam, representing the timeless dimension of Faith and Devotion. Together, they evoke the spiritual heritage of principles reflecting State and enduring values of the Nation.

The Frieze

14 feet high Frieze is the crown jewel of the Monument at the top; representing the united stand of the Nation during Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos.

Mataf Marble

The Thassos pristine marble used in the Monument is the same as of Mataf in Masjid al-Haram; brings exceptional purity and architectural elegance to the Yadgar.

The Six Obelisks

The six obelisks (3 on each side) transform the legacy of Marka-e-Haq into a vision of progress, prosperity and a promising future.

An Iconic Landmark

Across its 12-acre expanse, Yadgar-e-Fatah features Pakistan’s first-ever 3D Architectural Projection Mapping System and a 222-feet high Pakistan flag defining the skyline of twin cities.

Beyond the Monumental Form

Yadgar-e-Fatah extends beyond its monumental values with a harmonious blend of landscaped surroundings, hospitality and top viewing deck, complemented by thoughtfully integrated recreational facilities for visitors.

Marka-e-Haq Square

Marka-e-Haq Square (erstwhile Kachery Chowk), one of the Rawalpindi’s busiest intersections, has been transformed through a landmark infrastructure initiative aimed at improving traffic flow and enhancing commuters’ comfort.

In recognition of the iron will and unwavering resolve of the Pakistani nation during the May 2025 standoff, the junction has been renamed as “Marka-e-Haq Square”. The development now serves as a key component of the signal-free-corridor connecting Rawat and Motorway (M2) through Peshawar Road.

Launched in November 2025, the project comprised the construction of two flyovers, three underpasses and a pedestrian bridge at Marka-e-Haq Square, Iftikhar Janjua Road and Jinnah Park.

With the dedicated and relentless day-and-night efforts of FWO, the project has been successfully completed in a record 179 days and inaugurated on 10 May by CM Punjab, marking a significant milestone in transforming Rawalpindi’s urban traffic landscape. Designed as per the latest Engineering Trends, the development has substantially enhanced traffic flow and pedestrian movement at one of the city’s busiest junction, while setting a new benchmark for efficient and smooth urban connectivity.

Rawalpindi Ring Road

The 38.3-km long Rawalpindi Ring Road linking GT Road (N-5) to Motorway (M-2) is designed to divert heavy and intercity traffic away from twin cities and ease off road congestion. With strategically located interchanges and underpasses connecting existing communities and roads, it will reduce travel time, facilitate freight movement and support economic activity.

Gwadar - Ratodero Road (M-8)

The Gwadar – Ratodero (M-8) motorway has been upgraded to strengthen connectivity between the remote areas of Balochistan and the rest of Pakistan. What was once an unpaved and difficult mountainous stretch has been transformed into a modern, all-weather roadway that significantly enhances safety, streamlines traffic flow and reduces travel time. Built to withstand harsh weather and natural challenges, the improved highway ensures smoother and more reliable transportation. This project reflects technical expertise and professional commitment while contributing to national integration, sustainable progress and the country’s long-term economic growth.

Tunneling

The organization has comprehensive in-house expertise in tunnel design, construction and operations, demonstrated through landmark projects including the twin-tube tunnels of the Swat Motorway, the diversion tunnel of the Diamer Basha Dam and the headrace tunnels of the Jaggran-II Hydropower Project. Strengthening this capability at the national level, the Tunneling Institute of Pakistan (TIP) serves as a world-class hub for innovation in tunneling and is the sixth facility of its kind globally, while the Pakistan Tunneling & Trenchless Society (PTTS) represents Pakistan as the country’s sole participant at the largest international tunneling forum.

Communication Infrastructure

From the monumental Karakoram Highway to a legacy of transformative initiatives, FWO has woven a vast web of motorways, highways, interchanges and bridges across Pakistan. Each project strengthens the nation’s veins of connectivity, linking cities, communities, landscapes and laying the foundation for economic growth, regional integration and a future shaped by visionary infrastructure.
