ISLAMABAD: Security forces killed 10 terrorists, including a woman, while foiling attempted attacks near the Gabd Border Crossing and Gwadar city in Balochistan, with no casualties reported among security personnel.
According to the military’s media wing, Indian-sponsored terrorists belonging to Fitna al-Hindustan attempted to carry out terrorist activities at multiple locations in Gwadar district on October 22, targeting areas around the Gabd Border Crossing and Gwadar city.
The ISPR said the attacks were aimed at disrupting development and prosperity in Balochistan while targeting the very people the terrorist groups claim to represent.
Security forces launched clearance operations in and around Gwadar city to protect residents and restore order. During separate engagements and exchanges of fire, 10 terrorists, including one female terrorist, were killed.
One civilian was martyred and several vehicles were damaged during the attacks. The ISPR confirmed that the operations concluded without any loss of life among security forces, restoring the writ of the state in the affected areas.
The military strongly condemned what it described as the coercion of a Baloch woman into participating in the attack, calling it a violation of the dignity and honour of Baloch women.
According to the statement, terrorist groups were exploiting women for propaganda purposes to manipulate public sentiment and lend false legitimacy to their violent campaign.
The ISPR said such tactics were contrary to Baloch and Islamic traditions, which accord women the highest respect, adding that the people of Balochistan had consistently rejected groups committing violence in their name.
Reaffirming its commitment to eliminating terrorism, the military said the counterterrorism campaign under the vision of Azm-e-Istehkam, approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan, would continue at full pace.
Security forces and law enforcement agencies remain determined to eliminate foreign-sponsored and supported terrorism from Pakistan, the statement added.
Balochistan has witnessed repeated terrorist attacks targeting security forces, civilians and development projects, particularly in strategically important areas such as Gwadar. Pakistan has consistently accused India of supporting terrorist groups operating in the province, an allegation New Delhi denies.
Security forces have intensified intelligence-based operations under the Azm-e-Istehkam initiative to counter terrorism, protect key infrastructure and maintain stability in the region, which is central to the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
