Mayor vows strict action against those obstructing Karachi’s uplift
KARACHI: Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab has warned that those obstructing development projects will be dealt with strictly, directing officials to expedite work on Natha Khan Road and reopen it to traffic at the earliest.
Inspecting the ongoing work, the Mayor stressed that delays would not be tolerated and directed the relevant departments to ensure quality, effective coordination and regular on-site monitoring.
He said officials could not resolve civic issues from air-conditioned offices, urging them to visit project sites, assess ground realities, and take practical measures to minimise public inconvenience.
He said rehabilitating the road would ease commuters’ difficulties and improve traffic flow. He vowed to personally monitor development projects and ensure tangible progress, adding that all available resources would be utilised to improve Karachi’s infrastructure and transport facilities.
“We are soldiers of PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, and public service is our foremost responsibility.”
He reaffirmed his commitment to serving citizens and accelerating the city’s development.
