PDP demands cut in oil prices

Published Updated

KARACHI: Azam Minhas, Vice Chairman of the Pasban Democratic Party (PDP), has demanded an immediate reduction in the prices of petroleum products and LPG.

He noted that rising LPG costs would exacerbate difficulties for both domestic and commercial consumers, while higher petrol prices would lead to a staggering surge in the cost of food items.

He said that in a country where a vast segment of the population lives below the poverty line, keeping the people yoked like beasts of burden is an act of cruelty.

He warned that the day the blinders are removed from the eyes of the public, the elite will be forced to pack up and leave. He further demanded that public prosperity be prioritized over the acquisition of expensive aircraft and vehicles, and the granting of lavish privileges to the elite. Emergency measures must be taken to curb staggering inflation, he said.
