PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Governor Faisal Karim Kundi said that he felt greatly disillusioned by the remarks given by JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman on the imposition of governor’s rule in the province.
Speaking to the media here, he said that the JUI-F chief used to claim that no government could be formed without his nod and participation. “Look, now there is a new setup in KP and Maulana Fazl is nowhere in the picture.”
He said similarly, during the PTI rule, the JUI-F chief would complain he could not roam about freely in his own constituency, and that the federal government had failed to control the law-and-order situation.
He said he wanted to tell Maulana Fazl that the Balochistan CM was fully participating in the war on terror. “In Balochistan, there is BLA, while there are terrorist outfits in KP, as well.”
The governor said he invited foreign companies to invest in KP’s mineral sector. When minerals are extracted, people will become prosperous, he said.
“I invite Maulana Fazl to support the new government for the progress of the province, and support the constitutional step; the imposing of governor’s rule in KP,” he said.
Kundi alleged that the former PTI government in KP used to take dictation from some people, like Murad Saeed, based across the border in Afghanistan. “These people, who themselves are living comfortably, incite poor people in the province to violence.”
Kundi said that Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi had provided 19 APC vehicles to the KP government. “We will fight against those taking up arms against the state,” the governor said, adding that action should be taken against those not accepting the constitution of Pakistan.
He said that a committee had been constituted to investigate the incident of roof collapse at a school in Peshawar.
