KARACHI: Gwadar Port Authority (GPA) Chairman Noor-ul-Haq Baloch called on Karachi Port Trust (KPT) Chairman Rear Admiral Shahid Ahmed SI(M), S.Bt (Retd.) at the KPT Head Office to discuss ways of strengthening Pakistan’s maritime sector.

According to the details, the KPT Chairman welcomed his visiting counterpart. The two sides discussed the evolving geopolitical landscape and its implications for regional shipping, and reviewed current traffic statistics for both Karachi and Gwadar ports.

The meeting also looked at practical, forward-looking steps to revitalise port operations, improve connectivity, increase competitiveness and unlock more of the potential of Pakistan’s maritime economy.

The visit reflects an effort to align the country’s two major ports around a shared maritime vision, with Karachi’s established trade base complementing Gwadar’s strategic deep-sea potential.
