PARIS: European Union soft wheat exports for the 2026/27 season, which began in July, stood at 6.81 million metric tons as of September 27, up from 6.30 million a week earlier and stable year-on-year, European Commission data showed on Tuesday.
Romania was the largest EU soft wheat exporter so far this season with 3.11 million tons, followed by Lithuania with 1.15 million, Bulgaria with 0.62 million, Latvia with 0.59 million and Poland with 0.59 million.
However, the Commission said export data has not been complete for France since the beginning of 2024, for Bulgaria and Ireland since the beginning of marketing year 2023/24, and for Greece since January 2026.
EU barley exports had reached 1.91 million tons, up from 1.78 million tons the previous week but down 39percent year on year.
In imports, flows of maize into the EU so far in the 2026/27 season reached 4.96 million tons, up 0.49 million tons from the previous week and 35percent more than the year-ago period.
