LAHORE: The University of Lahore held a ceremony to launch a new collaborative partnership with the University of Plymouth in the United Kingdom, marking a significant step in transnational higher education cooperation between the two countries.

Ben Warrington, Head of the Lahore Office of the British High Commission, attended as chief guest. He was joined by a delegation from Plymouth led by Professor Vladimir Bogdan Ghita, Associate Pro-Vice Chancellor for Transnational Education. The event was presided over by Awais Raoof, Chairman of the Board of Governors at the University of Lahore, alongside Dr Samina Shah, Dean of the Department of International Qualifications.

Addressing the gathering, Warrington said the UK-Pakistan education partnership reflected a shared commitment to bringing world-class academic opportunities closer to students in Pakistan.

Raoof described the launch as a major milestone for the university, noting that it represents the first programme of its kind to be introduced at a Pakistani institution.

The ceremony concluded with the formal launch of the new academic programmes, followed by a cake-cutting ceremony, a fireworks display, and a group photograph with attendees.
