The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has initiated an internal disciplinary inquiry following media reports concerning alleged issues of discipline and conduct within the Pakistan Test squad.

In a statement on Monday, the PCB said the reports were being reviewed internally and that the matter was being handled under the board’s standard procedures and regulations.

“The process is being conducted under PCB regulations, ensuring that all concerned individuals are given due consideration,” the board said.

The PCB did not specify which reports prompted the inquiry, nor did it name any players or confirm the allegations being circulated in the media.

The board also cautioned against treating speculative or unverified claims as credible, particularly those it said were originating from “hostile external sources.”

“The PCB will not comment further at this time,” the statement said, while advising stakeholders and the public to rely on the board’s official communications.

The inquiry appears to follow recent media reports concerning alleged discipline and conduct issues involving members of Pakistan’s Test squad during the ongoing England tour. Mohammad Rizwan and Imam-ul-Haq have been mentioned in some reports in connection with alleged off-field conduct issues, although the PCB has not publicly linked either player to the inquiry or confirmed any of the allegations.

At this stage, the PCB has confirmed only that an internal inquiry is underway; the specific allegations and individuals involved remain officially unconfirmed.

The real probe should be to evaluate board official's competence n merit to select n manage players n their welfare. They should also be concerned about cricket's demise similar to squash, hockey.

Current management of PCB is ruining the career of player by treating them as their servants, the authoritarian attitude of chairman will make sure that Pak cricket meet the same fate as of Hockey.
