The fifth Directors’ Training Programme, organised by the Executive Development Institute (EDI), NSPP Lahore, from August 19 to 21, was approved by the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) and attended by 21 participants from federal and provincial governments and the private sector.

Participants represented various organisations, including SECP, Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority, Pakistan Airport Authority, NESPAK, PASSCO, WAPDA, Punjab Mineral Company, LDA, PKLI, Punjab Police and other public-sector institutions.

Rector NSPP Farhan Aziz Khawaja, while welcoming the participants, stressed the importance of transparency, accountability and effective corporate governance in improving the performance of SOEs.

Dean EDI Dr Naveed Elahi said the programme focused on legal responsibilities, board effectiveness, risk management, ethical governance and strategic decision-making through expert-led sessions, case studies and simulations.
