ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari apologised to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Friday, saying that the difficulties facing the premier were being created by members of his own team.

“What is happening to you is being done by your own team; it is unfair to you and your allies,” Bilawal said while addressing the National Assembly.

The PPP chairman said he supported the substance and merit of the bills under consideration but objected to the manner in which the legislation was being handled.

He questioned why non-controversial legislation was being processed in a controversial manner without taking coalition partners into confidence.

Bilawal stressed that consultation with allied parties was essential and urged the government to ensure greater coordination with its coalition partners in parliamentary proceedings.
